The xFS Demo page contains a
Java applet that demontrastres a
number of key features of the
xFS File
System. These include cooperative caching, software network RAID, and
distributed metadata management. To view it, your browser must
have Java support.
Each Host button (as shown on the left)
denotes a machine participating
in an xFS cluster. Clicking on a host button makes this machine the current Active Host. The active host is shaded (as shown on the right). There is always one and only one active host. |
|
Click on a Create button to create a file block.
The Operation Control specifies what operation is to be performed when a file block is clicked.
Click on a File Block to perform a file system
operation. For example, when the current active host is machine "5", and the Operation Control has a value of "read", then clicking on a block named "4" means: host "5" is reading file block "4". |
|
Click on the Flush button to force dirty blocks on a host to disk. |
